Sea Foam Eye Color

Good morning gasp girls!

I am really enjoying my Lorac GloGetter palette and it is definitely traveling with me all summer. So I decided that I need to get more acquainted with this palette and practice some colorful summer eye looks. Here's the first one:

Covergirl Queen lipstick in Penelope Pink and NYX Toast lipliner

I used the sea foam color 4 colors in all over my lid, the brown in the crease, and shimmery cream on my brow bone.

Hope you enjoyed this ladies!!Please fill free to leave comments, questions, and subscribe and remember I'm......

MAIL MONDAYS!!!! Mary Kay Lip Laccquers

Mary Kay Lip Lacquers

So I've decided that Mondays will be the day that I post hauls of purchases I've made online or via drugstore driveby, lol! Well either way this segment will be called Mail Mondays!! This Monday I have the awesome opportunity to showcase some fab new products from my wonderful Mary Kay consultant and fellow gasp girl Lindsay.

LtoR: Chai Latte and Pink Pagoda

So here's the 411. Mary Kay describes the lip lacquer as Intense, high-gloss formula glides on for a jelly finish that feels extremely moisturizing and smooth.
Each pot comes with its own retractable lip brush and holds .14 oz
So I put these claims to the test and rated each one on a scale from 1 to 5.

Intense
2.5 I'm not really sure what "intense" was referring to but I didn't find the color or shine to be intense. Rich or creamy buildable coverage may be more accurate of a description. (just my view)
High-gloss
3.5 It is not the glossiest lip product I own  (I have a pretty high standard for gloss though :) but it does give lips a glossy finish
Jelly finish
5  Yes I definitely agree with this description. I love the jelly like feel, especially because its not at all sticky but really light.
Extremely Moisturizing and Smooth
5 No disagreement here. It is like medicine for dry puckers everywhere!

The Brush
Each  pot came with its own little black retractable brush.  I found the brush cute and functional.  However for more intense color application I preferred using my finger. I don't know why  it just seemed to be more pigmented when applied that way.

Chai Latte to me is a creamy apricot beige
Pink Pagoda A Fuschia pink with purple flecks

Overall I'm satisfied with the product I give it a 4 out 5 for meeting most of their own criteria/description. If you are looking for a lip gloss that is highly pigmented this is not the product for you. Do keep in mind though that this product can be layered over lip liners and added to lipstick to add gloss and moisture.  I'd like to thank my wonderful Mary Kay Consultant Lindsay for getting me my products so fast. Ladies if you are looking for a great  MK consultant shes the gasp girl for the job contact her at www.marykay.com/lindsaykcole; 317-430-4786.  Hope this was helpful gg's!

Maybelline Color Vivids in Juicy Hues!!

Orange You Fabulous

I think by now you may have noticed that I am huge lip fanatic. I love bold color, even if I'm not able to pull off the look myself.  Yes honey, if I pick up a color that's a little challenging  for me I don't get discouraged. I just mix it with another color or a lip liner. No lip product goes unused on my watch.  If all else fails I settle for admiring the color on other fabulous gasp girls.  But, believe it or not orange is one of those colors that makes me pause.... so below I give it my best shot at wearing these orange and coral hues.

 Round 1

Maybelline Color Vivids Electric Orange
 Round 2
Maybelline Color Vivids Shocking Coral

For some reason they look the same in the pics.  In real life Electric orange is looks pretty much like the citrus fruit.  Shocking coral is much more pink.

Swatches

Left to Right: Maybelline Color Vivids in Electric Orange and Shocking Coral, Revlon Lip Butters in Tutti Frutti, Revlon Creme lipstick in Siren, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip balm stain in Rendezvous

Look if your still feeling timid just know that are multiple shades and ranges out there. Burnt orange, red/orange, brownish/orange so on and so on.  You can even go to Ullta and/or Sephora, or MAC and swatch yourself until your heart is content. So, there you have it ladies. Do you dare to paint your pout in orange? Well I hope so. Stay tuned for a fotd using one of these luscious colors. Please fill free to leave comments, questions, and subscribe and remember I'm......

"Werk It!" Wednesdays

Seeing Green!!

I'm not sure what it is, but lately when I've gone  shopping my eyes are automatically drawn to the color green.  Green shoes, green dresses, green accessories, you name it, Ive gasped over it. Emerald was deemed the 2013 Pantone color of the year and I couldn't agree with that decision more.  I'm personally in love with all shades of green from mint to lime, and right now there is no shortage of nature inspired shades to choose from.

So I know your wondering Gasp Girl how do you paint the canvas of your face to compliment all that green in your outfit.  Well I'm sure glad you asked because that is what "Werk It!" Wednesdays is all about! Its about giving you the best color options to coordinate with you clothes not match them.

For this outfit there are many color combos possible;bronze, orange, melon, and lilac (just to name a few). I chose to keep the colors rosy and sweet. Nothing on the eyes except 2-3 coats of mascara of course ;).

Easy Weekend
NYX Blush in Pinched, Forever 21, Hot Pink Matte lipstick, YSL Voluminous mascara.

Other Product Choices:
Covergirl Queen Collection lipstick in Penelope Pink
Covergirl Queen Collection jumbo gloss balm in Radiant Rose
Wet n Wild blush in Pearlescent Pink
Loreal Voluminous Fiber False Lash effect mascara (one of my favs!)

That's all for today ladies! Please fill free to leave comments, questions, and subscribe and remember I'm......

RiRi Woo Changed My Life!

Okay that's really dramatic!  No RiRi Woo has not changed my life, I mean I haven't gotten any taller, thinner or richer but .... I have finally after  much disappointment found the perfect red lipstick!! Ladies this truly (gasp!) worthy.  I can't tell you how many "true" reds Ive picked up and they've had that muddy orangey color mixed in, ugh yuck. Take a look for yourself:

The color is beautiful and rich with pinky blue undertones not orange.  A lot of my favorite beauty gurus were really disappointed that the color was to close to MACs Ruby Woo ) which is in their permanent line(sorry ladies).  I can't share in that disappointment, however,  because I do not own Ruby Woo. So gasp girls if you you've been dying to try red lipstick or you have one that you hate, pick up the RiRi Woo when it returns in June. If you need more encouragement here is the gorgeous red on one of my deeper tone gasp girls!

Oooooo...,Lovely Right?!!

If you already have Ruby Woo and your on the cusp about whether you should buy RiRi Woo check out a couple of reviews on YouTube.  One of my favorites is by AllThingsFabulous101 on YouTube, she really puts a fun twist on comparing the two lipsticks. That's it for today ladies and remember I'm......

Where are all my fabulous "gladiators in suits"?! I don't know about you but I am super psyched about the season finale of Scandal! I'm  also slightly afraid the cliffhanger will be so crazy that my heart stops beating (lol)! Well I don't know what to expect from the show but I do plan to face it head on with a fresh face inspired by the ultimate gladiator and woman of the hour Ms. Olivia Pope.

ChromaLust by Sugarpill

Hey gasp girls,

Do you remember loving princesses, unicorns, rainbows, and fairies, yes fairies.  Well ladies I have fallen back in love with these things! Well, kinda.  Sugarpill's Chroma Lust loose eyeshadow pigments are like magical fairy dust for your eyes!! Yes girls just call me your fairy Sparklemother because I am bringing you  sparkle and whimsy.

Sugrpill Eyelashes Overdose in Dreamy (bottom)

So let me show you the lashes or for the purpose of this post "fairy wings"!
The dreamy lashes are so gorgeous and full.  My mouth drops every time I open up the
box. The dreamy lashes have silver glitter or rhinestone chips or something sparkly
attached to them.  They are whimsical yet everyday wearable (well at least on the weekend).

Now (drum roll please) the glitz!! I purchased the first three colors apart of a Loose Eyeshadow Trio
its called Zillionare.
From left to right: Royal Sugar, Junebug, Hysteric, Goldilux

So as you can see the loose eyeshadow is really pigmented. I've already worn Goldilux and its long wearing and very ummm... noticeable. So you won't be sneaking up on anybody in these shadows. I ordered everything from beautylish.com. Each pot holds 0.21 oz so they'll probably last close to forever.  They are vegan and cruelty free and did I mention pretty :).  I can't wait to do some looks with these!! So ladies I hope this brightened your day!

Spring Has Sprung Nails!!

Hello my Sweets!! We are finishing up the Spring series with nails of course.  You can't leave out nails, not with all the colors, brands, and textures now available on the market. Today I am featuring e.l.f. cosmetics nail polish. I was in my local CVS a couple of weeks ago and came across the display and thought "this is odd, I only remember seeing e.l.f. products in Target." But you know that didn't stop me from buying three colors. So here's a little review for you.

So unfortunately there are no names printed on the bottle anywhere, but...for $1.99 who can really complain right? Each color applied a little differently.  The yellow was a beautiful bright lemon color but I was disappointed with the application.  All in all it took four coats to get to this opaqueness. The periwinkle color had a nice sheen and took two coats of polish. The mint green was the most opaque and only required one coat but I used two coats as I normally do with most nail polishes. Overall these nail polishes are worth the money if your want to add a little color to your Spring and Summer wardrobe without investing  a lot of money. Hope this was helpful.  Have a great day!

Spring has Sprung with Eyes!!

Hellooooo glamorous! ( in deep sultry voice) Lol! Anyhoo we are continuing to our search for all things springy by delving into yes you guessed it eyeshadow! What I'm really loving right now is the Lorac Glogetter Palette thats being sold exclusively at Ulta. It retails for $20 mmm hmmm I said $20. Lorac is a great brand this is a great price and if your looking to experiment with color this palette gives you that with out being over the top. So lets begin.....

First Look: The packaging is goorrrgeous!! It makes me feel rich just looking at it. If your going to be doing a lot of traveling this Spring and Summer this is easy to pack.

Second  Look: Inside looks like a Bahamian cruise postcard or something. You have the sunset, beach, and sand all in one. unfortunately they are not labeled with individual names. But I think you can guess whats what.

Last but certainly not least: Arm Swatch Candy :) I did put a little bit of Tartes creaseless primer on my arm but no base.

Overall The pigmentation is pretty good. Its buildable color so you can swipe it on for sheer coverage or pat it on if you want your look to be more bold. The consistency is soft/slightly powdery when you swipe it. Its advertised as having a combination of matte and shimmer shadows, but I honestly only  think two of the colors qualify as a matte.  Looking at the above picture the brown and the cream underneath are the most matte out of the bunch. I plan to take Lorac's Glogetter palette and Lorac Pro palette with me everywhere I go this summer. Hope you gasp girls found this to be helpful. Always at your service!

Sincerely,
The GaspGirl

Spring Has Sprung with Lips!

Gasp! Spring is here, I think!!?  I don't know about the climate elsewhere, but here in Indy the weather has been on again off again, and then back on! Well I don't know about the weather but I have definitely made up my mind to express my springy self with lots of bold color. Below are some gorgeous lip stains that will takes straight into the Summer months.

First up I have the new Covergirl lipperfection jumbo gloss balm (long name I know:)
From left to right; Coral Twist, Jam Twist, Watermelon Twist

Next up we have the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. Now these aren't new to the game they're just new to me.  From Left to Right: Cherish, Rendezvous, and Lovesick

 So all together now from left to right Covergirl; Coral Twist, Jam Twist, Watermelon Twist and Revlon;
  Cherish, Rendezvous, and Lovesick

The packaging is really cute and sleek girls. Its not bulky in any way. There's no sharpening required you just twist the bottom. The only little pet peeve I had about the Covergirl gloss balm was that once you took the plastic wrap off the name came off with it.  The colors are nice only took a few swipes to get the coverage I wanted. Remember Gasp Girls its a stain so if your looking for full on color pop and pow a stain is not for you.  I usually gravitate towards lipsticks and gloss applied with a heavier hand, but I when I want to show my softer side this is the way to go. Always at your service!

Sincerely,
The GaspGirl

Finally Here!

Hello world its The Gasp Girl here to say, well.... hello!

I am really excited to enter this world of blogging/ beauty blogging. It's taken me a while to get up the nerve to start this blog but I'm finally here! The purpose and goal of this blog is just to have fun talking about all things makeup and beauty related. A few of the things that will be featured on this blog are reviews, face of the day (fotd), picture tutorials, and more.
My love affair with makeup began as a little girl playing in a relative's makeup collection. Well, over the last 20 plus years I've grown my own makeup collection and it has become so much of an obsession that I had to tell those  I know and (don't know yet :) about how much I love makeup.  Thus the birth of The (Gasp!) Girl. I know you're probably wondering what the heck that is a gasp girl.  The name is simply my reaction to makeup that awe and gasp (sound) I make when I get an email from MAC or see a new display in Ulta or CVS.  It is also the response to seeing  a woman whose face is "beat"( makeup really well done) and its the response I hope to evoke on this blog from all of you makeup lovers out there. So ladies if you feel the same way I do, then you are a fellow "gasp girl"  and I welcome you to indulge in this addiction for which I hope there is no cure. Together let's make the whole world gasp!!Now...... our first post

The Inspiration: A feather earring.  Well it used to be an earring but I broke it. Still pretty though.

Products Used: Milani Infinite Liquid eyeliner in Infinite, Lorac GloGetter palette (dark blue), Milanie (ILE) in Endless, NYX Jumbo pencil in slate, Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoo in Mossy Green, Milani Shadow Eyez in Green Safari

Close Ups and.....

Just For  Fun
On the lips MACs magenta liner and Stilas lip glaze in Cherry Blossom

Hope you gasp girls enjoyed the pics. More to come soon. Always at your Service!

Sincerely,
The Gasp Girl
